GAMABA Award
ON GAMABA
The Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) or the National Living Treasure Award is given by the National Commission for the Culture and Arts (NCCA) to a person or group of artists for their contribution in preserving and advancing the country's intangible cultural heritage. Recipients of the award are recognized internationally as National Living Treasures, and locally as "Manlilikha ng Bayan."
On ginaw bilog
In December, 17, 1993, Ginaw Bilog was presented by then-President Fidel V. Ramos with the National Living Treasure Award, or Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) for his life-spanning work in preserving the tradition of ambahan poetry among the Mangyan peoples of Mindoro. His awarding was formalized through Proclamation No. 383, s. 1994, which was signed on May 17, 1994.
