About Us

The "Ginaw Bilog: The Story of Ambahan Poetry (Virtual Museum Exhibit) by the Ginifer Lopez Group" is made by a group of students from De La Salle University - Dasmariñas, in partial fulfillment of their academic requirements for Art Appreciation. The overall thrust of the project to bring further awareness to Ginaw Bilog, our selected Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) awardee. Particular emphasis is placed unto his legacy of preserving the Mangyan tradition of ambahan, a unique form of poetry etched unto bamboo. By contextualizing his work within the overall tradition of the Mangyan peoples, this exhibit hopes to contribute meaningfully in the appraisal and appreciation of indigenous arts as a crucial part of our country's intangible cultural heritage.
